How to assign a user the role of survey creator

Who is this guide for?

Account Admins

Other users in your organization can be given Survey Creator access in Culture amp. Account Administrators must assign the Survey Creator role to a user. You can also make people just a Survey Administrator for specific surveys. Make sure the people you want to become administrators are already loaded in as users. There is no limit on how many Survey Creators you can create for your account.

To Assign a Survey Creator

  1. Click Settings button

  2. Click the Roles and Permissions menu

  3. Locate the user in the list of users with roles assigned (you can also search the list by their name, email or employee ID)

  4. Click Edit

  5. You will see the roles that this user currently has assigned. Tick Survey Creator

  6. Use the Search box to type part of the person's name or email address

  7. If you would like the creator to be able to send surveys and share results with only some employees rather than all employees, click Add Filter

  8. Select the demographics and demographic values that will be accessible to the Survey Creator. You can find more information about this below.

  9. Click Save

An email is automatically sent to the new Survey Creator, providing a link to set a password for Culture Amp (only if they don't already have a login).

The Survey Creator will now be able to create and manage surveys using the Create Surveys button on their homepage:

Note: The survey creator role allows the user access to only surveys that they have created themselves.

Assigning Demographic Filters

When assigning demographic filters, you must select both a demographic and a value. For example, a demographic might be ‘Country’ while a value might be ‘Australia'. In this instance, the Survey Creator would only be able to create and manage surveys for employees within Australia. You can also assign multiple values to a demographic.

When selecting multiple demographic values from a single demographic, the Survey Creator can add participants with any of those values (it is an OR condition). For example, a Survey Creator with permissions to Department > Finance and Department > HR can add any participants to their survey, that have either Department > Finance OR Department > HR assigned in their user profile.

When selecting multiple demographics however, a survey creator will only be able to add participants that match values from both of those selected demographic groups (it is an AND condition).

For example, a Survey Creator assigned to Department > Finance, Department > HR and Job Title > Analyst Programmer, Job Title > Actuary would only have permission to add participants that are in the Finance or HR Department AND also have Actuary or Analyst Programmer assigned as their Job Title.

To Remove a Survey Creator Role

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click the Roles and Permissions menu

  3. Locate the user in the list of users with roles assigned (you can also search the list by their name, email or employee ID)

  4. Click Edit

  5. You will see the roles that this user currently has assigned. Untick Survey Creator.

  6. Click Save

If the Survey Creator role is removed from a person, they will no longer be able to create surveys, but they remain Survey Administrator for any surveys they created.

Not sure this is the right role? Check out all of your options here.

Note: It is not possible to remove or change the filters on your own Survey Creator role. For assistance, reach out to an Account Administrator or contact our Culture Amp Support team via email at support@cultureamp.com. You can also request to "talk to a person" during your chat to discuss further with a specialist.
