Phase 1: Plan Your Rollout
Coach can be rolled out to your entire organization or launched with a smaller pilot group first. A phased approach can help you gather feedback, troubleshoot early, and build internal advocacy.
When to Roll Out Coach
We recommend aligning the launch with key employee moments:
Timing | Why it Works |
Before a performance cycle | Help prepare employees to give effective feedback and navigate performance conversations. |
Alongside 1-on-1s | Launch or drive adoption of 1-on-1 conversations alongside Coach. |
After engagement surveys (coming soon) | Support actionable insights, communicating about survey results, and facilitating discussion, action, and accountability. |
Key Factors to Consider for Rollout Readiness
Before you launch Coach, here are some important considerations to ensure a smooth rollout:
Language: Coach is currently available in American English only.
User Access: You can enable Coach for everyone or start with a pilot group of up to 200 users.
Format: Coach supports text input only—it does not support voice, images, or document uploads.
Integrations: Coach does not integrate with external tools or systems outside of Culture Amp.
Confidentiality: All conversations are private to the user and are not visible to anyone else in the organization.
Reporting: Reporting features are not currently available but will be introduced in future updates.
Data Access:
Coach only uses information the user provides during a conversation.
It does not access employee data or Culture Amp insights (e.g. survey results, performance reviews).
Coach cannot reference company-specific values, policies, or historical feedback.
Future Updates: We’re working on improved versions of Coach. More details will be available soon.
Coach Rollout Schedule
Who | What You Need to Know |
New Customers | If you joined Culture Amp on or after July 7, 2025, Coach will already be available in your account settings. You can choose whether or not to turn it on. |
Existing Customers | Coach isn’t turned on by default. To get access, just fill out the Registration of Interest form—this helps us know you're ready. |
How Rollout Works | We’re gradually enabling Coach for existing customers in waves between July and September 2025. Waves are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. |
Getting Notified | Exisiting customers will receive an email about a week before your Coach access goes live. |
Turning It On | Once your account has access, an Account Admin still needs to go to Settings > Coach to enable it for your people. It’s not switched on automatically. |
Phase 2: Enable Coach
To turn on Coach for your organization:
Sign in as an Account administrator
Go to Settings > Coach under the Account section.
Choose who can access Coach:
Everyone
Pilot group (select up to 200 users)
If you select a pilot group: consider a planned date to enable for everyone
Don’t See Coach in Your Settings?
Double-check that you’re logged in as an Account administrator.
If you still don’t see it, just reply with "Ask a person" in a support conversation to speak with a Product Support Specialist.
Phase 3: Support Adoption
Getting the most out of Coach means driving awareness and usage—especially among people leaders and team leads.
Tips for Encouraging Adoption
Promote practical benefits: Coach helps people prepare for feedback, development, and tricky conversations
Share real examples: Show how Coach helped a manager find the right words for a performance review or feedback chat
Position it as an enabler, not another tool—especially for new or time-poor managers
Build momentum with pilot champions: Ask a few users to share their experience in team meetings or Slack
Include Coach in onboarding for managers or leadership development programs
Phase 4: Learn and Iterate
Coach doesn’t yet offer in-platform usage reporting, but you can still learn a lot from your rollout.
How to Gather Feedback
Send a quick post-pilot survey to ask:
What situations did you use Coach for?
What was most helpful?
What could be improved?
Run a short retro with pilot group leads or People Partners
Share feedback with your Culture Amp Customer Success Manager or the Culture Amp Support Team—we’re always looking for ways to improve Coach based on what we hear from customers
Privacy, Data Security & AI
We know data security and responsible AI use are top of mind. Here’s how Culture Amp ensures Coach is safe and secure for your employees.
Private by default
Coach conversations are private and only visible to the individual user. Even Admins and Managers can’t access them. We only store conversations to allow anonymized analysis that helps improve Coach—and we take steps to de-identify that data first.
No training on your data
Culture Amp never uses identifiable customer data to train AI models. As per our General Terms, we also don’t allow subprocessors or third-party AI providers to train their models on your data.
Third-party AI, strict controls
Coach uses Claude by Anthropic, via the secure AWS Bedrock platform. While user inputs are processed by the model, they’re not stored or used to train it. We chose Claude because of its strong performance and safety standards.
Bias detection and transparency
Coach is designed to support—not replace—human decisions. That’s why:
You’ll always see when AI is in use, and be reminded to review suggestions before using them.
We regularly test AI outputs for accuracy and fairness.
AI guidance is based on Culture Amp’s People Science content, free from harmful bias.

FAQs
Can we customize the topics or add our own resources to Coach?
Not right now. Coach is built on Culture Amp’s People Science knowledge base and can’t be customized with company-specific content or policies.
How can we track adoption or impact?
Detailed reporting isn’t available yet but is on the way. In the meantime, you can gather feedback from your pilot group or send out quick surveys to see how people are using Coach and what they find helpful.
Will Coach connect to other Culture Amp tools?
Coach is currently standalone. Future integrations (like Coach x Engage) are coming, but you’ll be in control of when to enable them.
Will Coach be available in other languages?
Right now, Coach is available only in American English. We plan to expand language support in the future. To share feedback on your specific language needs, just type “Ask a person” in a support conversation to speak with a Product Support Specialist
