Update demographics at the account level

Manage user demographics: edit, add, or delete account demographics in settings.

Who can use this feature?

Available on:

  • All Culture Amp subscriptions.

The Account demographics page allows you to maintain user demographics pre-loaded during the Import Users process. This is useful for editing names or updating values (like Department names). For changing demographics for specific users, you'll need to manually edit user details or upload a file through the Import Users process.

Edit account level demographics


Adding a new demographic

Navigate to Settings > Account demographics.

Click Add demographic.

Enter the new demographic name.

Enter the demographic value options.

Click Add to confirm your selections.

Click Save to update.

Editing a demographic

Go to Settings > Account demographics.

Find the demographic you want to edit.

Click on the demographic name to edit.

Make any needed changes.

Click Save to update.

Deleting a demographic

Open Settings > Account demographics.

Locate the demographic you wish to delete.

Click the Trash can icon.

Confirm the deletion.

Note:

  • Deleted demographics won’t appear in future surveys but will remain in existing ones.

  • Changes apply only to surveys in draft status. Live, closed, or archived surveys will not be affected.

Editing Department demographics (Performance Users)


When updating department information, old department names may still appear in the Performance drop-down menu because they could be linked to existing goals (classic).

To manage this effectively you should recreate any existing department goals under the updated department names.

Once you’ve made any needed updates, simply reply with "Ask a Person" in a Support Conversation to connect with a Product Support Specialist. Provide a list of old department names you want to remove, and the team will handle the deletion for you.

Tip: Select "All Departments" in the Goals (classic) page under the "Department" tab to identify goals linked to the old department values.

FAQs


What if I delete a demographic by accident and need this restored?

Deleted demographics will be automatically restored through an import, but this will happen only if the following conditions are met:

  1. The names of the demographics must match exactly with the deleted ones (naming and casing).

  2. There should be at least one change in demographic values for one or more employees so that the platform can register the change and restore the original values.

When a demographic is restored, it will come back with all the existing values intact, and any new values you've included will be added as well.
