What Coach Can and Can’t Do
Coach is a powerful tool, but it’s not a human—and there are important limitations to keep in mind:
1. Coach doesn’t replace human judgment
1. Coach doesn’t replace human judgment
Guidance, not solutions – Coach offers structured, people science-informed recommendations, but you should apply your own judgment to fit your team, culture, and situation.
No guaranteed outcomes – Conversations involve emotions and context that AI can’t fully predict. Coach can help guide discussions but doesn’t ensure a perfect result.
2. Coach can’t make decisions for you
2. Coach can’t make decisions for you
No decision-making – Coach is a conversation guide, not a decision-making tool. For business or HR decisions, consult a manager, HR professional, or mentor.
Not for legal or compliance matters – Always seek HR or legal advice for workplace policies, legal concerns, or compliance issues.
3. Coach lacks emotional intelligence and real-time adaptability
3. Coach lacks emotional intelligence and real-time adaptability
No emotional depth – While Coach can suggest ways to communicate with empathy, it doesn’t replace human emotional intelligence, active listening, or connection.
No real-time adjustments – Coach provides guidance beforehand, but you’ll need to adapt in real time as conversations unfold.
4. Coach doesn’t integrate with other Culture Amp data or company-specific policies
4. Coach doesn’t integrate with other Culture Amp data or company-specific policies
Standalone tool – Coach doesn’t pull insights from Engagement surveys, Performance reviews, or other Culture Amp data.
General guidance only – Its recommendations are based on people science, not tailored to your company’s policies, historical feedback, or internal dynamics.
5. Coach isn’t suitable for sensitive or high-stakes conversations
5. Coach isn’t suitable for sensitive or high-stakes conversations
Avoid relying on Coach for:
Legal, ethical, or compliance matters (e.g., misconduct, terminations, harassment claims)
Serious HR issues requiring professional intervention
Health or well-being concerns – Coach is not a substitute for professional mental health or counseling support
Critical business negotiations requiring nuanced strategy
6. Coach should only be used for constructive, professional conversations
6. Coach should only be used for constructive, professional conversations
Professional use only – Coach is designed to facilitate positive, effective discussions.
No harmful content – It should never be used to craft offensive, manipulative, or inappropriate messages. For sensitive conversations, seek guidance from a mentor, HR partner, or legal expert.
