Starting March 27th, 2025, the Group goals admin role will replace the Group goal creator role. The Group goals admin role provides more granular control, allowing you to create and manage goals for specific groups (e.g., departments) with cascading permissions across group and individual goals within and below the assigned group. This is a significant upgrade from the previous Group goal creator role, which did not include this level of delegation or cascading permissions.

What Does This Mean for You?

The Group goal creator role is being deprecated and will be replaced by the Group goals admin role. Going forward, any new accounts with goals enabled will automatically have access to the new Group goals admin role.

For Existing Accounts:

  • Your existing Group goal creator permissions will remain active until you choose to opt in and transition to the Group goals admin role.

  • Once you opt in, Group goal creators will become Group goal admins, gaining additional cascading permissions for all goals within and below their assigned group.

What You Get with the New Role

  • Targeted Permission Delegation: Assign responsibilities for specific groups (e.g., department heads or team leads) without granting broad access to the entire Goal system.

  • Enhanced Flexibility: Support for complex organizational structures by allowing goal administration to align with your organization’s hierarchy—whether by department, region, product line, or other divisions.

  • Improved Security and Compliance: Granular access controls ensure that sensitive goal information is only visible to those who need it, minimizing data exposure risks.
