Manage bulk assignment of Perform HRBP and Department goal creator permissions via CSV import. Ensure proper formatting and user roles.

Who can use this feature?

Available on:

  • All subscriptions that include Performance.

The bulk assignment of Perform HRBP and Department Goal Creator permissions can be managed via a formatted CSV import, streamlining the permission management process for users in your Culture Amp account.

Note: You can no longer assign a user as both a Perform HRBP and a Performance Admin. If a user already has both roles, they can add any participant to a cycle but will only see and manage data for their assigned departments.

Limitations & notes


  • Overwrite import: The import process replaces existing permissions. If a user is listed in the import file without their current permissions, those permissions will be removed.

  • Bulk removal: Permissions can be bulk removed via the import process.

  • Department requirement: A department must have at least one user assigned to it in your Culture Amp account for the permission to be applied.

Download and prepare the template

  • Download the template

  • Ensure your file is formatted correctly in Excel or Google Sheets before converting to CSV to avoid formatting issues.

Column headers:

  • email: The email address of the Perform HRBP or Department Goal Creator (must be an active user).

  • role: Options include:

    • hr_business_partner (for Perform HRBP permission)

    • department_manager (for Department goal creator permission)

  • department1: The name of the first department to assign (must match the exact department value in your Account demographics).

For additional departments, add additional columns to the file and increment the column name:

  • department2

  • department3

  • department4

Once you have prepared the file, contact our Culture Amp support team to upload it. Simply reply with "ask a person" in a support conversation to connect with a specialist who can assist with the import.
