Completing Manager-requested feedback

Respond to manager-requested feedback: save drafts, dismiss requests, share feedback with employees, and add comments after submission.

When you receive a manager-requested feedback task, you'll get both an email notification and a task reminder on your Home page. On the task, click Give feedback to begin.

Writing and saving feedback


Your feedback is auto-saved as you write, allowing you to save drafts and return later to complete them.

You’ll receive weekly reminders until you submit your feedback or until the request expires (after 90 days).

Dismiss a request

If you you are unable to complete the feedback, select Dismiss request and choose a reason from the drop-down list.

Feedback visibility


By default, Manager-requested feedback is visible to:

  • The requesting manager

  • Indirect managers

  • Performance Admins

  • HR Business Partners assigned to your department

The feedback is not automatically shared with the person you are giving feedback about.

Sharing feedback with the employee


If you want to share your feedback with the employee, tick the box labeled Also share with recipient before submitting. Once submitted, feedback cannot be shared later if you didn’t choose to share it initially.

Where shared feedback appears


If you choose to share the feedback, it will display on the recipient’s profile in performance cycles and in the Directory. Shared feedback can be viewed during:

  • Self-reflections

  • Performance reviews by the employee’s manager

  • By indirect managers, Performance Admins, and HR Business Partners assigned to your department.

Adding comments after submitting feedback


Once submitted, manager-requested feedback cannot be edited or reopened. However, you can add comments to provide additional context or address something you may have forgotten.

Who can add comments?

  • The manager who requested the feedback

  • You, the reviewer

Other roles, including Performance Admins, HR Business Partners, and the feedback subject (if shared), cannot add comments.

How to add comments


To add comments on your feedback:

  1. Go to Feedback > Anytime feedback > Your feedback.

  2. Filter the list to Manager-requested feedback.

  3. Select the person you gave feedback to.

  4. Click Add comment, type your comment, and click Send.

Note: Comments are visible to the manager, the reviewer and the feedback subject (if the feedback is shared). Admins and HR Business Partners can view comments through the employee profile in review cycles and in the directory.
