Troubleshooting/FAQs

Why are my answers appearing as dates in my csv export?

Some versions of Excel misinterpret text as dates.

Fix: Open the file in Excel, select the affected column, and change the format to the custom date format: d-d.

Why is the data in my export formatted strangely?

CSV files may display incorrectly in some versions of Excel, causing misaligned columns or errors like #NAME?.

Fixes:

  • Open the file in Google Sheets or Numbers (Mac) and export it to Excel.

  • Manually import the CSV into Excel instead of opening it directly. Follow the steps in this CSV Import Guide.

How do I export a list of selected participants while the cycle is in scheduled status?

While your performance cycle is in draft or scheduled status, there is no way to export a list of participants who have been selected. The export option on your Manager Review tab will allow you to export all participants, but this only becomes available once the cycle goes live.

Workaround:

  • You can view all selected participants within the user interface, either on the edit employees or manager review tab

Do managers have access to the performance cycle csv exports, to get a report on their directs?

Unfortunately not. The csv exports for manager reviews and peer & upward feedback are only available to administrators and Performance (Limited) roles. Managers can export individual manager reviews to PDF. There is currently no way for them to export peer & upward feedback their direct reports have received, but they are welcome to take screenshots of the received feedback and share externally if needed.
