In large companies, organizational changes happens daily. These changes are usually recorded in HRIS. Instead of manually recreating these changes in People Analytics, we now have a way to keep them in sync. This guide covers how to how to successfully manage the automation of user updates.
How to enable “Users sync” feature
As part of our onboarding process, we’ll work with on setting up the user sync with your HRIS. If you are an existing customer and would like to have this feature enabled, just reply with "Ask a Person" in a Support Conversation to speak with a Product Support Specialist.
How it works
To access the Users Sync page:
Make sure to have People Analytics Admin role
From the main navigation, go to ⚙︎ Settings
Make sure you are on Roles and permissions section
Click the Users sync link on the right side of the page.
Understanding the Users Sync Page
The page is divided into two main sections:
User Changes List
This list displays all the recent organizational changes, including department changes, role updates, and employees who have left etc.Users with Paused Sync
This section includes two groups:New Employees: Detected in your HRIS, ready to be invited to People Analytics.
Paused Sync Users: Existing People Analytics users whose sync has been explicitly paused.
Managing User Changes
You’ll see two categories of changes:
New Additions: Highlighted in green, these are new updates since the last sync.
Removed Demographics: Highlighted in red, these are updates where demographics has been removed (e.g., role or department changes).
You can apply updates individually or in bulk.
Individually: Go one by one and either Take current or Take new updates
Bulk Action: Use the Take all current or Take all new buttons in the top right corner to apply the selected changes to the entire list.
Once you are happy with the selection, click the Apply Changes button to confirm and update.
Pausing Sync for Specific Users
If you need to pause the sync for a particular user:
Click the three dots icon on the far right of the user's row.
Select Pause sync from the dropdown menu.
The user will then appear in the Paused Sync list at the bottom of the page. Syncing will remain paused until you decide to resume it.
Managing Users with Paused Sync
The Paused Sync list shows:
Users with Paused Sync: Click Resume sync to re-enable their connection to the HRIS.
New Employees: If new employees are detected in HRIS, you can send them an invitation to join People Analytics by clicking Send invitation.
Email reminders
To ensure your data stays up-to-date, we check for user changes every hour. Additionally, your Account administrators will receive a weekly reminder email to review and apply the latest updates.
