Comprehensive is an all-in-one compensation management platform that helps HR teams run compensation reviews and communicate compensation to employees. An integration between Culture Amp and Comprehensive enables a one-way transfer of Performance Ratings (from Culture Amp) to be included in Compensation Reviews run within Comprehensive.

📌 Note:

  • This feature is available for Culture Amp Customers using Performance Reviews and active subscribers to Comprehensive.

  • You must close a cycle in order for data to sync; incomplete cycle data will not be included in updates.

  • Performance data is automatically shared hourly with Comprehensive and will update directly into live Compensation Reviews if changes are made to an employee’s performance data.

a. Who is Comprehensive?

Comprehensive is an all-in-one compensation management platform that helps HR teams run compensation reviews and communicate compensation to employees – without using a thousand spreadsheets.

The Culture Amp <> Comprehensive integration allows you to connect compensation to performance by:

  • Auto-syncing performance data from Culture Amp to Comprehensive, saving time and reducing errors when running a compensation review cycle;

  • Calculating compensation recommendations based on performance data, ensuring your scarce budget dollars are being effectively used to retain top performers;

  • Viewing employee compensation side-by-side with performance data, giving you a unified place to make efficient, transparent, and equitable compensation decisions.

2. Setting up the Comprehensive Integration

a. How do I set up the Culture Amp <> Comprehensive integration?

Step 1: Generate Credentials in Culture Amp Admin Settings

  1. As an Admin, find Comprehensive under your integration settings

  2. Click set up Comprehensive Integration

  3. Generate new credentials for Comprehensive

  4. Once generated, copy the client ID and secret

    1. You’ll use these details to complete authentication in the Comprehensive app. Don’t share your secret anywhere public or in unsecure messages.

Step 2: Complete Integration Authentication in Comprehensive Admin Settings

To set up the integration:

  1. Click on the Add Integration button

  2. Follow the steps in the modal to set up a new integration

    1. Select “Culture Amp” from the drop-down

    2. Enter your Client ID from Step 1

    3. Enter your Client Secret from Step 1

  3. Select how you would like to retrieve performance data:

    1. (1) Use latest rating for each employee

      1. Comprehensive will automatically pull the rating from the latest performance cycle for each employee

    2. (2) Select performance cycles to pull ratings from

      1. Comprehensive will display a list of performance cycles from Culture Amp, and you can select which cycle to pull ratings from. If an employee appears in more than one performance cycle, the latest rating (by last time updated) will be pulled.

3. Using the Comprehensive Integration

a. How do we use the Comprehensive <> Culture Amp Integration?

  1. Complete a performance review: Hold and complete a performance review. For more information on how to close a Performance Cycle - see here.

  2. Sync performance data to Comprehensive: Once the review cycle concludes, re-sync your performance data from your Comprehensive account using the steps in “How do we import performance ratings into Comprehensive?” below.

  3. Run a compensation review: Run a compensation review in Comprehensive, informed by performance data gathered in Culture Amp.

  4. Managers & employees can access data: Employees can easily view their performance and compensation data at any time in Comprehensive.

b. How do we import performance ratings into Comprehensive?

  1. Click on the “Performance” tab

  2. Click on the “Resync” button

  3. Select how you would like to retrieve performance data:

    1. (1) Use latest rating for each employee

      1. Comprehensive will automatically pull the rating from the latest performance cycle for each employee

    2. (2) Select performance cycles to pull ratings from

      1. Comprehensive will display a list of performance cycles from Culture Amp, and you can select which cycle to pull ratings from. If an employee appears in more than one performance cycle, the latest rating (by last time updated) will be pulled.

Note: only ratings from completed performance cycles which are closed will be included in data transferred via the integration.
