What is Bulk 360 Setup and Why Use It?

Managing 360 feedback for many employees can be time-consuming. Bulk setup makes it faster and easier. By using a simple CSV file, you can create multiple 360 feedback processes at once. This saves time and ensures consistency across your organization.

Key Benefits

  • Save time by setting up many 360s at once

  • Reduce manual errors with a structured template

  • Easily review drafts before launching surveys

  • Assign coaches and reviewers in one step

Before You Begin

Launch the Overall 360 Survey

Before you can begin creating individual 360 feedback processes, the overall 360 survey must be launched first. This step activates the survey, making it possible to create and launch individual 360 processes for each employee.

Once the overall survey is launched, you can begin the next steps for bulk creating individual 360s.

Step-by-step: Set Up 360 Feedback in Bulk

1. Fill in the CSV Template

Use the right template:

  • Use the Coached template if you’ve selected Require coaches in your survey settings (this means each employee must have a coach assigned before launch).

  • Use the Coachless template if you’ve selected No coaches in your survey settings (this means employees will choose when they are ready to view their feedback).

Here’s how to complete each column:

Employee (Required)

  • Add a valid email address for each employee

  • Emails must be assigned to active users in your Culture Amp account

  • Add employees as users first if they’re not in the system

Coach (Required for coached processes)

  • Include the coach’s email

  • Only one coach per employee

  • Coach must also be an active user

Reviewers (Optional)

  • Add emails under Manager, Co-worker, or Direct Report columns

  • Use semicolons (;) to separate multiple reviewers

  • You can leave these blank if not needed

Note: An employee can’t review themselves or be listed as their own coach

2. Upload and Validate the CSV

Before uploading:

To upload:

  1. Go to Individual 360 surveys

  2. Open the Process Manager page

  3. Click Bulk Create 360s

  4. Choose and upload your CSV file

Once uploaded, the system will automatically check for errors.

3. Fix Any Validation Errors

If your file has errors, you’ll see a red message: Validation failed.

To fix:

  1. Click Get File with Errors

  2. Open the file and check Column A for details

  3. Correct the issues

  4. Re-upload the updated CSV

Common errors:

  • Users not active in Culture Amp

  • Emails don’t exist e.g. they are not attached to an active user profile.

  • The same reviewer listed more than once for one employee

4. Create Draft 360s

After successful validation:

  • Click Create draft 360s

  • Drafts will appear in your Process Manager page

Note: No emails are sent at this stage—you’re safe to review and make changes.
