For Managers: Requesting Feedback About a Direct Report
Manager-requested feedback (MRF) is exactly what it sounds like: it let's managers request feedback about your direct reports from other individuals, outside of a performance review cycle. Since managers can’t be in all places at once, this can give managers insight into an employee’s performance and experience that the manager wouldn’t have on their own e.g.
If your organization has enabled Manager Requested Feedback, managers will see Request Feedback About a Direct Report when creating a feedback request.
- Select the direct report under Who is this feedback about?
- Add reviewers under Who are you asking for feedback?
- Set visibility: - Feedback visible only to you
- Feedback visible to you and your direct report

- Add a specific question to improve feedback quality. - Examples: - What are 1 or 2 things you’ve observed this employee grow in or excel that they should continue?
- What’s one thing this person could do differently to have more impact?
- This employee is focusing on improving their [specific skill]. Based on what you observed in [this specific situation], how do you think they did in that area?

- (Optional) Add additional questions: - Select Add question
- Choose a question type: Open-ended, Single select, or Rating scale
- Click Add to include the question
 - All added questions are required by default.
- Click Request Feedback.
Viewing and Managing Feedback
The new Anytime Feedback homepage features a main feed with all accessible feedback. When you go to the Anytime Feedback page, you'll see:
- All accessible feedback with clear details on who gave it, who received it, the date it was shared, and the visibility settings.
- Visibility information showing exactly who can see each piece of feedback, based on the options selected when it was sent. Feedback is typically visible to the author and recipient, but if the recipient’s manager is selected, their name will also appear.
On the right-hand side of the page, you'll find dedicated panels to manage your feedback activity:
- Requests received: Here, you'll see the names and dates of those who have requested feedback from you. Click view all requests received to see both incomplete and completed feedback requests.
- Your feedback activity: This section shows you the number of requests you've sent and drafts you've saved. You can click the arrows to expand and manage these items. All started drafts are automatically saved and can be accessed via the drafts link; currently, only feedback can be drafted, not requests.
Viewing Received Feedback
- You’ll get a Slack or MS Teams notification.
- Log in to view the full feedback.
Withdrawing Feedback Requests
In some cases, you may need to withdraw a feedback request. When you do this, the task is removed from the reviewer’s Tasks list, and they will no longer be prompted to provide feedback.
How to withdraw a feedback request
- Navigate to Feedback > Anytime Feedback > Requests Sent (under Your Feedback Activity)
- Select the request and click Withdraw Request.
Feedback Visibility
When you give or request feedback, you can choose who can see it before sending. Here are the available options to select from:
| Feedback Type | Options |
| Peer-to-Peer Request Feedback | Visible to you only / Visible to you and your manager |
| Peer-to-Peer Give Feedback | Employee only / Employee and their manager |
| Manager-Requested | Visible to you only / Visible to you and your direct report |
