Who can use this feature?
Available on:
All Culture Amp subscriptions that include Engagement.
Culture Amp can work with Engagement enabled customers (specifically Account or Survey Administrators) to arrange for historical survey data to be loaded in as a comparison to your Culture Amp surveys. Before starting this process, ensure that your survey design (including questions and factors) are finalized.
Culture Amp Product Support will provide you with an excel template for you to populate, which is exported directly from the relevant survey on your Culture Amp account (i.e the one you'd like the comparison loaded into). This task may take up to 3 days to complete.
Limitations
Comparisons can only be loaded against Rating questions and Factors on your Culture Amp survey
Company Overall only or Company Overall & Demographic level comparisons can be loaded as part of this process (Note that when Demographic level comparisons are loaded, we need to load in at least 1 company overall score; even if it's loaded against a new dummy question (not assigned to a section or a factor) or a new dummy factor (without any questions assigned)).
1 file per historical survey is required
Comparisons are loaded to a specific survey only; if you require the comparison again in the future, the task will need to be repeated on the future survey
These types of comparisons are not compatible with Leader Based Reports
These types of comparisons are not compatible with the Powerpoint export for demographic reports
File preparation
Company overall only
type - this should be either question or factor (lowercase), depending on if you're adding the comparison to a question or the factor
demographic - leave blank for company overall comparisons - column still needs to be present in the file
demographic_question_code - leave blank for company overall comparisons - column still needs to be present in the file
score - the historical comparison score expressed as a decimal (NOT a percentage score) rounded to two decimal places, eg 93% score would read as 0.93 in the file, 100% would read 1 in the file.
entity_code - the code of the question or the factor you are adding the comparison to. This should already be populated upon template download
reference_text - reference for identifying the question or factor. This should already be populated upon template download
Example screenshot of a populated file (using just 2 Factors and 9 questions for the example):
Note: Please delete the rows for any Factors or Questions where you are not providing comparison scores.
Company overall & demographic level
In addition to populating the factor and question set with the company overall comparison scores, you'll need to duplicate the entire factor and question set of rows for each demographic value you'd like to add comparison scores for within the same file:
type - this should be either question or factor (lowercase), depending on if you're adding the comparison to a question or the factor
demographic - the demographic value (group). Example, Department = Customer Success; Customer Success will need to be entered into the 'demographic' column
demographic_question_code - the title of the demographic. Example, Department = Customer Success; Department will need to be entered into the 'demographic_question_code' column. (Note that we'll convert the data in this column to the back end code for the specific demographic for import purposes)
score - the historical comparison score expressed as a decimal (NOT a percentage score) rounded to two decimal places, eg 93% score would read as 0.93 in the file, 100% would read 1 in the file.
entity_code - the code of the question or the factor you are adding the comparison to.
FAQs
Why can't I see the historical survey comparison data after importing?
When comparing your current survey to imported historical comparison data:
Factor-level Comparison: You'll receive a factor-level comparison if the number of questions remains the same between surveys, all questions are matched under each factor and the factor name stays consistent.
Question-level Comparison: You will see this if the questions are the same between surveys.
Remember, comparisons only show for Rating questions and Factors on your Culture Amp survey. These comparisons are not compatible with Leader Based Reports or PowerPoint exports for demographic reports.
