When using Culture Amp, your account's data is hosted in one of three data centers:
United States (US)
European Union (EU)
Australia (AU)
Your physical location doesn't determine which data center your account is on; it's chosen during the contracting process and stays fixed to that region.
How is a data center chosen?
Your organization's data center is selected before your account is created, as part of the agreement with Culture Amp. Culture Amp offers three regions (US, EU, and AU), and your organization elects which one to use. This choice is documented in your contract and Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
The decision is typically made by your organization's legal, privacy, security, and procurement teams, based on factors such as:
Data privacy regulations (such as GDPR)
Internal security and compliance requirements
Contractual or vendor management policies
Once your account is provisioned, it remains in that data center. If your organization ever needs to change data centers, this would need to be arranged with your Culture Amp account team.
Note: If no preference was specified during contracting, accounts default to the US data center.
How can I tell which data center my account is on?
The easiest way to check your account data center, outside of reviewing the DPA in your contract, is to look at the URL while logged into Culture Amp. The data center is reflected in the web address:
US data center: subdomain.cultureamp.com
EU data center: subdomain.eu.cultureamp.com
AU data center: subdomain.au.cultureamp.com
For example, if your URL contains .eu after your subdomain (subdomain.eu.cultureamp.com), your data is hosted in the EU data center. If there's no region segment after your subdomain, you're on the US data center.
Note: There is no separate in-platform indicator for your data center. Checking the URL while logged in is a definitive way to confirm it.
Still unsure?
If you have questions about which data center your account is on, or about the data residency terms in your agreement, please reach out to your Culture Amp account manager or contact our support team.
