Who can use this feature?
Register for access: Culture Amp MCP is available now for eligible customers. Admins can register interest at cultureamp.com/mcp Culture Amp will confirm if and when it's set up for your account; registering doesn't guarantee access.
Connect an AI tool: Once your account is set up, everyone in your organization can connect their own Claude or ChatGPT using their normal Culture Amp login. There's no separate permission needed beyond that.
What is this feature?
Culture Amp has a way to connect Claude or ChatGPT directly to your Culture Amp account. Once connected, you can ask the AI assistant to find your 1-on-1 conversations and work with the agenda topics, action items, and notes on them, without opening Culture Amp yourself.
What this lets you do
Once you've connected Claude or ChatGPT to your Culture Amp account, you can ask it to:
Find or list your 1-on-1 conversations
View the agenda for a specific 1-on-1
Add a new agenda topic
Add an action item
Mark an agenda topic as discussed, or undo that if you marked it by mistake
Mark an action item as complete, or undo that if you marked it by mistake
Add a note to a conversation
Anything you add or complete this way shows up the same as if you'd made the change directly in Culture Amp. For example, a note the AI assistant adds appears on that conversation's agenda just like a note you typed in yourself. How to connect
Connecting Claude or ChatGPT to your 1-on-1s starts with registering your account, then connecting your own AI tool once Culture Amp confirms it's set up. Here's the full flow:
As an admin, register interest at cultureamp.com/mcp.
Culture Amp reviews your account and will confirm if and when MCP is set up for you. This isn't automatic or instant, so allow some time before you hear back.
Once you have that confirmation, in Claude or ChatGPT, find the option to connect a new tool, connector, or integration, and choose Culture Amp. Each AI tool has its own name and location for this option, so check that tool's own settings if you're not sure where to look.
Sign in: You'll be taken to a Culture Amp sign-in screen. Sign in the same way you normally do: with your Google account, your organization's single sign-on (such as Okta), or your Culture Amp password.
Approve access: Review the authorization screen that appears and approve access. This is where you're agreeing to let the AI tool see and act on your 1-on-1s on your behalf, matching what you can already see and do yourself in Culture Amp, nothing more.
Start using it: Once you approve, you're connected. You can start asking the AI assistant about your 1-on-1s right away.
Key rules and things to know
Only Claude and ChatGPT are supported: Claude and ChatGPT are the only AI tools that work with this feature today. Microsoft Teams, Slack, Gemini, and other AI assistants aren't supported.
This only covers your 1-on-1s: The connected AI tool can only work with your 1-on-1 conversations: the conversation itself, agenda topics, action items, and notes. It can't access Performance, Engagement, Surveys, Insights, or any other Culture Amp module.
The AI tool can only see what you already see: The AI assistant can only see and act on 1-on-1s you're personally part of, whether that's as the manager or as the report in that conversation. This matches exactly what you already see when you open Culture Amp yourself. It can't see a one-on-one you're not personally part of, such as a direct report's one-on-one with a different manager.
This isn't the same as the Culture Amp API: Culture Amp also offers a separate Culture Amp API that's used for reporting and other integrations, set up with a developer account and API credentials. Connecting Claude or ChatGPT is different: it uses your normal Culture Amp sign-in, not a developer account, API key, or separate credential setup.
Notes added this way aren't the same as Personal Notes: When the AI assistant adds a note to a conversation, it adds the same shared note that's visible to both people in that 1-on-1, the kind described in 1-on-1 Conversations. It's not the same as the separate, more private Personal Notes feature described in that same article. The AI tool doesn't create, read, or touch Personal Notes at all.
Adding a topic this way isn't the same as Assigned Topics: When you ask the AI assistant to add a topic, it adds an ordinary agenda topic to that conversation, the same as if you'd typed it in yourself. This is different from Assigned Topics, which is a separate, admin-managed feature that schedules topics based on demographics. Connecting Claude or ChatGPT doesn't give it any access to that feature.
Limitations
Your 1-on-1s data is shared with the connected AI tool: Using this feature means your 1-on-1s data (conversations, agenda topics, action items, and notes) is shared with whichever AI tool you connect. If you have questions about how that data is handled, the best place to ask is your Culture Amp contact.
There's no published limit on requests: Like any connected tool, there are technical limits in place to keep the service reliable for everyone, but Culture Amp doesn't publish a specific number of requests or actions you can make in a given time.

What to do if it doesn't work
Actions taken through the AI assistant should appear the same as if you'd made them directly in Culture Amp, for example, a new note or a completed action item. If something looks like it didn't save, or doesn't match what you asked for, open a Support Conversation and our Product Support team can help.
