All Users

To begin using the Culture Amp app on Slack, Culture Amp Account Admins need to first integrate Slack with Culture Amp. Once integrated, here's how you can leverage our Slack app to view notifications and action tasks.

Features of the Slack App:

The availability of the features listed below depends on the products enabled on your overall Culture Amp account. If you're unsure about what's possible with your account setup, we recommend contacting your internal Culture Amp Account Admin, typically a member of your HR team.

The app keeps employees updated on survey launches, participation reminders, and reports for employee engagement, experience, and effectiveness surveys.

  • Survey invites

  • Reminders to participate in a survey

  • A survey report has been shared with you

  • Reminder to view a report

  • Reminder to select focus areas

  • Reminder to select actions

  • Reminder when an action is almost due

  • Invitations to the action feedback survey

💡Tip: Some notifications can be customized.

Give and receive feedback with simple commands in Slack. Get notified about performance cycle launches and receive reminders.

  • You've received feedback

  • Your direct report received feedback and selected to "Share Feedback with Manager"

  • Someone has requested feedback from you

  • The feedback you gave or received is commented on

  • Reminders to complete performance reviews

Give recognition to colleagues in public Slack channels by using the word "shoutout" or tagging colleagues. Access notifications in Slack's Mentions & Reactions.

Skills Coach

Stay on track with daily prompts and reminders to complete your content. Here's what you'll receive:

  • A morning prompt every day for each new content day after completing the last (only if Slack is selected as the notification preference).

  • An afternoon reminder to check in on your practice after completing a day of content.

Note: An EU version of our Slack app for our EU Data Center customers is available for Engagement and will soon be available for Performance.

Get Started Using the App

To get started, just head over to Shortcuts in Slack to link up your Culture Amp account. This lets you get notifications from Culture Amp.

For Performance Users:

  1. Click the + symbol or lightning bolt icon.

  2. Choose Give Feedback or Request Feedback, and that will start the sign-in process.

  3. Then, you'll be asked to connect your Culture Amp account.

  4. Just follow the steps to sign in to your Culture Amp account.

  5. Once you're signed in, your Culture Amp account is connected!

If you don't see the Culture Amp app in your Slack app list, ask your Slack Admin to connect Culture Amp with Slack first.

Shortcuts and Slash Commands

If your company uses Culture Amp Performance, you can give and request feedback right in Slack. Let's see how you can do this using slash commands and workspace shortcuts. Here's how:

  1. Click the + symbol icon.

  2. Choose Give Feedback or Request Feedback.

Slash Commands

To use slash commands, type in the following commands from anywhere in Slack:

  • /cultureamp givefeedback to give feedback

  • /cultureamp requestfeedback to request feedback

What happens to the information you enter?

  • The recipient will receive a notification in Slack containing your feedback.

  • If your account has manager feedback sharing enabled and you choose 'Share with their manager' before sending the feedback, it will also be shared with the person's manager in Slack.

  • Your feedback will also be added to the recipient’s profile in Culture Amp. It will be visible to you, the recipient, and, if shared, their manager.

If you want to give a shoutout but the Culture Amp app isn't in the channel, simply add it by typing "@cultureamp" and hitting Send.

You can also add the Culture Amp app to a channel by selecting Add an App from the Integrations tab in the channel's details.

To give a shoutout, include the word "shoutout" in your message, like this: “shoutout @teammate for the awesome thing they did.” Remember to mention one or more colleagues in your message! Shoutouts aren't a slash command, so no need to start your message with a "/" or the word "shoutout"."

Additionally, you can trigger a shoutout by adding a # in front of the word "shoutout," or including . or , after it.

Is it possible to edit a previous Slack message to include the word "shoutout" and give recognition to a colleague?

Editing a previous Slack message won't retroactively trigger a shoutout. The shoutout feature typically relies on specific triggers or commands within Slack, so editing a message after the fact wouldn't activate it.
