Voice mode gives you another way to interact with AI Coach by letting you speak instead of typing. It is designed to make using Coach feel more natural and immediate, especially when you want to think out loud, practise a conversation, or move through a prompt more quickly.
Availability: Voice mode is currently in Beta and rolling out in phases to ensure a smooth experience. If you don't see it in your account just yet, hang tight, it is on the way and expected to be available for all accounts by mid-June.
What is Voice Mode?
Voice mode is an additional option when using AI Coach. It does not change what Coach can help with, but gives you more flexibility in how you interact with it.
At launch, Voice mode includes two experiences:
Dictation mode, where you speak and your words are converted into text before sending your message to Coach, but Coach still only replies in text.
Conversation mode, where you have a back-and-forth spoken conversation with Coach and see the exchange in text on screen.
Using Dictation Mode
Dictation mode lets you speak your message and turn it into text. Once the transcription appears, you can review it and then send it to Coach.
Coach responds in text, just like a standard Coach interaction.
Open any version of AI Coach.
Select the microphone icon to start dictating your message.
Speak your prompt and wait for your words to appear as text.
Review the transcription, then click send to provide it to Coach when you're ready.
Note: Dictation mode is available across all versions of AI Coach:
General Coach, Coach in Performance and Coach in Surveys
Using Conversation Mode
Conversation mode lets you talk with Coach in a more natural back-and-forth format. Coach replies with audio, and the interaction is also shown as text on screen.
It's especially well-suited to the type of conversations General Coach is designed for. Preparing for a difficult 1:1, workshopping how to deliver feedback, or practising a performance review conversation before it happens.
Open General Coach
Select the Conversation mode icon (sound bars) to start a spoken conversation with AI Coach.
Speak naturally, and Coach will reply using voice while also showing the exchange in text on screen.
If needed, you can interrupt Coach while it is speaking to keep the conversation moving naturally.
Note: Conversation mode is only available when using General AI Coach, so you will not see this option when using AI Coach in Performance or Surveys.
How Your Audio Data is Handled
Neither Culture Amp nor ElevenLabs (our third-party transcription and speech provider) stores your audio recordings or uses them for training purposes. Your audio data remains entirely secure and private.
After your speech has been transcribed, the interaction continues as a normal text-based Coach conversation. This means the text conversation follows the same storage behaviour as other Coach conversations, including appearing in conversation history where applicable.

Can't See Voice Mode?
Voice mode is being released gradually, so it may not be available in every account straight away.
If you do not see Voice mode when using AI Coach just yet, it should become available as the rollout continues, with all accounts expected to have access by the middle of June.

No. Voice in Coach uses one designated coaching voice. It is not currently possible to select different voices.
Can I interrupt while AI Coach is speaking?
Can I interrupt while AI Coach is speaking?
Yes. In Conversation mode, you can interrupt Coach while it is mid-response, so you do not need to wait for the full reply to finish before speaking again. This helps the experience feel more like a natural back-and-forth conversation, rather than waiting through a complete response each time.
