Overview

While Anytime Feedback includes a default set of questions, Administrators can customize the requested feedback templates to better align with your organization’s specific goals, values, or competency models.

These templates are designed specifically for when someone requests feedback. For moments when you want to share feedback spontaneously, the tool stays flexible with a simple open-text field. Plus, employees always have the option to tweak a template’s questions to make sure the feedback they receive is as relevant as possible.

Accessing Template Configuration

To customize your feedback prompts:

  1. Log in to Culture Amp.

  2. Navigate to the Feedback tab.

  3. Under the Admin section, select Configure Anytime Feedback templates.

Standard Templates

You will find three default templates ready for use. These serve as the "base" for any feedback request initiated within the platform:

  • Peer-to-Peer Requested Feedback: Used when an employee asks a colleague for feedback about themselves.

  • Manager Requested Feedback: Used when a manager asks a reviewer for input regarding a direct report.

  • Manager Requested Upward Feedback: Used when a manager asks their skip-level direct reports for feedback on their own direct report.

Default Template Text

Peer to Peer Requested Feedback:

  • What’s one thing I did well in this project that I should continue doing?

  • What’s one thing I could have done differently to improve the outcome?

Manager Requested Feedback (Requesting from peers):

  • What’s one thing [direct report] did well in this project that they should continue doing?

  • What’s one thing [direct report] could have done differently to improve the outcome?

Manager Requested Upward Feedback:

  • Describe how your manager has helped you or your team progress on goals? What specific actions or guidance were most impactful?

  • What is one skill you would suggest the manager focus on developing to improve their overall effectiveness?

Customizing Your Templates

Click on any of the templates listed above to access and modify its question set. The questions you define here will serve as the default starting point for users when they initiate a request.

Editing Existing Questions

  • Modify Text: Click into any question to update the wording.

  • Set Requirements: Questions are set to "Required" by default but you can use the Required toggle to decide if a question must be answered.

  • Remove Questions: Delete any default questions that do not serve your current needs.

Adding New Questions

Click Add Question to choose from three question types:

Question Type

Best Used For...

Open-ended

Collecting qualitative feedback and stories in the employee's own words.

Single select

Forcing a choice between a list of options (e.g., selecting a specific company value).

Rating scale

Evaluating specific skills or behaviors using a custom set of ranked options.

Saving Your Changes

Once you have finished adjusting a template, click Save. These changes will immediately update the "base" template that users see when they begin a new feedback request.

Tip: Remember that while Admins define the base template, users have the ability to further edit these questions at the individual request level to ensure the feedback is as specific as possible.

Troubleshooting/FAQs

What happens to my pre-existing feedback templates from Anytime Feedback 1.0?

Your templates from Anytime Feedback 1.0 will carry over to Anytime Feedback 2.0. The only exception is templates for unrequested (spontaneous) feedback. These aren’t used in Anytime Feedback 2.0, so they won’t appear there.
