Things to know before you check your language
Language coverage depends on your language, the product or feature, and, for surveys, the survey type. A language translated for Engagement surveys is not automatically translated across Performance, Develop, Goals, or AI features.
When looking at the table below, two rules explain what people actually see:
Not translated: people see that product in English (US), including its interface, notifications, and system text.
A language missing from a survey: participants see the first language configured on that survey, which may not be English. Add every language your participants need to each individual survey.
The language picker shows the native name followed by the English name, for example Français - French.
The Native name column below shows the native portion of that label.
The two English options: they share a native name, so that column shows their full picker labels instead.
Performance review cycle setup: language names there are generated separately and may read differently from the picker.
What each coverage value means in the table
All Engagement survey templates: all Engagement product survey templates are translated for you. This includes the Engagement Survey, the Wellbeing Question Set, the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Survey, and the Exit and Onboard lifecycle surveys.
Four Engagement templates: only the Engagement Survey, the Quick Engagement Survey, and both Performance Culture Diagnostic templates are translated. Other Engagement templates appear in English.
All Effectiveness survey types: all seven are translated: Individual Effectiveness 360, Leadership Effectiveness 360, Manager Effectiveness 360, Manager Effectiveness 180, Manager Effectiveness 180 (Pulse), Team Effectiveness, and Feedback 360 (Pulse).
Customer translations available: Culture Amp does not provide the translation. Customer-supplied translations may be possible in limited circumstances, but the surrounding interface remains in English and the experience should be validated before launch.
Translated: that product is translated in your language, including its interface and notifications.
Not translated: Culture Amp does not translate that product in your language, so it appears in English (US).
Coverage describes what Culture Amp translates for you. Do not use survey coverage to infer coverage for Performance, Develop, Goals, or AI features. For a language Culture Amp does not translate, you can supply your own question translations for Engagement and Effectiveness surveys. See Providing your own translations.

The Anytime Feedback screens follow the Develop and Goals column. Learning products, including Skills Coach, are English (US) for every language. Several other Performance features, including Calibrations, do not follow either Performance column: see Performance features with wider coverage.
The Performance and AI columns describe the documented product coverage, not every individual Performance feature. Several features have separate coverage rules, so check the feature-specific information before planning a launch.
If your language is not listed, speak with your Customer Success Team before you plan a launch.
What a translated survey includes
Where a survey is translated for you, the translation covers the survey content and the experience around it.

What Culture Amp does not translate
Admin tools and survey configuration remain in English.
The development planning report is in English for every language, including languages shown as Translated for Develop and Goals.
Survey coverage does not carry across to Performance, Develop, or Goals. Read the two Performance columns for your language.
Most custom content is never translated automatically. Development plan tasks, notes, competency descriptions, uploaded files, goals, and Engagement questions you write yourself all appear in the language they were written in. Performance review cycle questions are the exception, and can be translated during cycle setup.
Action planning inspirations are translated only for some of the languages shown as Translated, and appear in English for every other language. Ask Support which are currently available, or supply your own: contact Culture Amp Product Support to export the translation file, and name the languages you need.
Legal and confidentiality notices are not yet translated for Croatian, Slovenian, or Kazakh, and appear in English for those languages.
Performance features with wider coverage
Some individual Performance features do not follow either Performance column.

Anytime Feedback notifications and exports. The Anytime Feedback screens are separate, and follow the Develop and Goals column
Calibrations, where the screens are partly translated in Hungarian, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese. Expect a mix of that language and English on those screens
Coverage for these features varies by language and does not match any column in the table, so ask Support which applies to your language before you plan around it.
For languages with no official Performance coverage, core Performance screens appear in English. This does not override the feature-specific exceptions above.
Tell the Spanish and Portuguese variants apart
The language picker shows two Spanish options and two Portuguese options, and the unqualified name is the European variant.
Español is Spanish (Spain). Español Latinoamericano is Spanish (Latin America).
Português is Portuguese (Portugal). Português Brasileiro is Portuguese (Brazil).
The two variants in each pair have different Performance coverage, so check the row that matches the variant you intend to use.
Check which Tamil variant your account uses
Tamil now means Tamil (India). An earlier Tamil (Sri Lanka) option is no longer translated or maintained, and it never delivered the coverage it was previously listed at.
Accounts set up with Tamil before September 2026: contact Support to confirm which variant your account and each of your live surveys is using.
Employee data language codes: confirm the Tamil code with Support before using it, as older guidance lists the variant that is no longer maintained.
Setting up languages for your account
Account languages: Contact Support to have languages activated for your account. They then become available to select.
Engagement: configure every language your participants need on each individual survey. Account language settings may affect which options are available for new surveys, but an existing survey keeps its own language configuration. See How to set up a multilingual Engagement survey.
Performance: Review cycles manage languages independently of your account list, so you select languages during cycle setup. You can also have the questions you wrote translated for a cycle, either automatically or by adding translations yourself, in a wider set of languages than the table shows. See How to set up a multilingual Performance review cycle.
Develop and Goals: The interface and notifications are translated for the languages shown as Translated in the Develop and Goals column, and appear in English for all others. Content your team writes is never translated.
Language codes: Use the codes in Add language codes to employee profiles when you set a preferred language. Confirm the codes for Croatian, Slovenian, Kazakh, and Tamil with Support first, as that article is being updated for those four.
Providing your own translations
Four different things get called translation, and they are not interchangeable.
Questions you wrote: you can supply translations for these, for Engagement and Effectiveness surveys. This is the route for a language Culture Amp does not translate.
Culture Amp's survey templates: translated by Culture Amp only, as shown in the table. You cannot supply these yourself.
Survey communications: translated by Culture Amp where your language is covered. Not customer-supplied.
Survey interface text: menus, buttons, labels, and instructions. These stay in English unless your language is covered in the table.
What to expect: a mixed language experience, because your translated questions sit inside an English interface. Speak with Support before you rely on this for a launch, as what is possible varies by survey type.
AI feature coverage
AI feature language support is set by the proficiency of the underlying AI model, not by the coverage your language has for surveys. A language with full survey coverage can still have reduced or no AI support, so check the feature-specific information rather than reading across from the table.
